Digital Image – Fire Garden

This Image is Made up entirely from clippings of photos that I took of fireworks on New Years Eve. even the fence is made up from rocket trails in the sky

Here following are a series of the original images so that I can explain a little about how it was built up.

It started with just a plain black background and using the following images I Cut out the parts were the arrows are and altered the colours etc then pasted them onto the background as shown in Pic 3 to create the grass effect.

The next step was adding the sky and this was cut out from a photo of the night sky, (it is actually the moon that you see shining) but I brightened up the image clip to make it more like daytime, see Pic4

Then I added a little more grass effect as seen in Pic 5

The next step was the fence and this took a little longer to put together.

This was done by cutting out the rocket trails seen in pic 6 and stretching them into the correct length etc.

Then I had to build up the fence piece by piece until I got the fence as seen in Pic 7

The next thing I did was to make the) flower stems and these were cut out from the following image Pic 8 as you can see by the arrows.

Once again I altered the colours etc to create the effect I wanted as in Pic 9.

The red arrow points to the ones on the left of the final image and the blue arrows points out the stems on the right hand side only with the colours changed.

Actually I’ve just noticed a cow with a runny nose in Pic 8 can you see it? It’s under the red arrow.

OK, still with me? Good. The next step was the grass around the bottoms of the stems this was cut out from pic 10 as shown by the blue arrow.

For the butterfly I cut out the part shown by the red arrow, then I made a copy of it and flipped it over to make a sort of mirror image of the first, then I joined them both together and once again altered the colours to get the butterfly in Pic 11.

Ok now the last step, the big red flowers. These were cut out of the following image (Pic 12) and altered slightly in colour as you can see in the final Image.

Everything was done on a separate layer in Adobe Photoshop then the layers were merged together and Bingo! there you have it.

Now you can see how I came up with the name Fire Garden because that’s exactly what it is.

Digital Image – Daybreak

One of my many hobbies is playing around with images in Photoshop, they usually start by looking at photo’s and trying to find something else in them.

This image “Daybreak” symbolizes my own birth as I will explain now.

Unfortunately I’ve lost the original photoshop file of all the different pieces but I’ve opened it up in photoshop and I’ll try to point out some details by altering the image slightly.

DAYBREAK

daybreak

Looking at the whole image you can see that it’s been based on the idea of the stork delivering the baby, a story s I’m sure you’ve heard when you were a child.

I’ve exaggerated on the idea in showing that the stork has eaten it’s way through the night sky creating a hole where the daylight shines through (Daybreak) to deliver the baby to the earth.

Where the daylight meets the ground the baby is delivered and the start (Daybreak) of my life has begun.

As you can see, the beams of daylight shine through the arms of my Guardian Angel and the positive things in life appear within that light.

I, just like you and everyone else also have to deal with the negative things in life that are destined to appear on our paths, I have shown these outside the light.

Following are a series of pictures where I have zoomed in on various parts of the image for a more detailed look.

 The Stork Area

 daybreak-stork-closeup

Looking at the above image you can see where the stork has actually eaten it’s way through the night sky, (the flesh around the hole is actually made up from clippings of photo’s from a bad accident and edited in photoshop to get the final result).

In the blue square you can see a woman’s face. this is my Mother who is sadly no longer with us on earth.

It’s difficult to see in this image but the stork still has the empty sling in it’s beak which it used to carry the baby in.

The Dark Area, Part One

 daybreak-bottom-left-closeup1

In this area of the image you can see the negative things I was talking about earlier waiting to come into my life, I’ve exaggerated on this idea by using the above sections to express this.

In the blue rectangle you will see the Holy Cross standing by the side of the pond, the reflection in the water is the cross upside down which is the symbol of Evil (Negative Energy) the position of the Holy Cross above the reflection symbolizes Good over Evil, (I appreciate that according to your religious beliefs/disbeliefs that you may have a different view on this which I totally respect but for now this image is about my idea’s) this section was freehand painted with the brush tool.

In the red rectangle you can see two ferocious looking dogs (The hounds of hell) this is another symbol of the negative side of life.

The Dark Area Part 2

daybreak-bottom-right-closeup

To the bottom right of the image just outside the light you can see more sinister and evil looking figures that also symbolize the negative things in life.

The Light Area

 daybreak-light-closeup

In the middle area of the image within the light you can see the positive things in my life.

In the foreground you have of course the baby for obvious reasons and just behind on the grass you see a guitar which symbolizes the fact that I’m a musician.

In the blue rectangle you can see a Unicorn which is the symbol of virginity, this is my way of expressing the purity of the Purusa (A yoga term for the divine spirit within us) also to the right of the unicorn is a funny looking man symbolizing happiness.

Well that just about finishes this explanation about the Daybreak image, I hope you liked it and understand now a bit more of what it’s about

Bye the way the image here below is where it all started, it’s a photo I took from inside the car in Holland while we were travelling back home from the airport.

They say A Picture paint’s a thousand words and it’s took me 650 word’s to explain this picture (I’ve just counted them) so I suppose there must be something in the saying………………Just a thought.

Thanks for reading……Endy
